The Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR) hosted 12 University of Georgia business students for a 2-hour workshop on the history and importance of the Bermuda insurance market. The workshop highlighted the leading role Bermuda has played in taking on risk from around the world. ‘Bermuda stands out by combining efficient capital deployment ability with specialized industry expertise and support services,’ said Ms. Madeiros, ABIR’s Senior Vice President and Deputy Director, who led the class.
The students were taking part in the Bermuda Insurance Market Study, an annual teaching and training exercise of the top-ranked Risk Management and Insurance Program at the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. The week-long emersion in Bermuda introduces the undergraduate students to the Insurance market through company on-site visits and industry sponsored seminars. Participating in the University of Georgia program were students from Georgia and Bermuda.
