Recently, the Minister of National Security, the Hon. Michael Dunkley celebrated World Book Day by participating in a book drive organised by Hott 107.5’s radio personality Nikita Robinson.
Last Thursday (March 6), hundreds of books were provided to children throughout Bermuda, and Minister Dunkley with is set of books in hand, stopped by Happy Valley Child Care to spend some time reading to the little ones.
Minister Dunkley said, “I want to commend Mrs. Robinson for organizing this community effort to provide every nursery and preschool student with a free book in celebration of World Book Day. I was pleased to do my part on behalf of our young people.”
In addition to Minister Dunkley, several other Parliamentarians participated in World Book Day by reading to students at various schools around the Island. They included Opposition MP Michael Weeks, Deputy Speaker Suzanne Roberts-Holshouser and former Government Minister Col. David Burch.
