A 42-year-old man today received a conditional discharge for possessing cannabis back in 2010.
Antoine Brangman of Sandys pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court this morning to possession of cannabis on October 22, 2010.
The court heard Brangman was arrested that evening in relation to another offence and at 10:35pm, officers were processing him at the Somerset Police station.
Officers searched his clothing and found a brown paper twist in his jacket pocket. The twist contained plantlike material.
When asked about it, Brangman didn’t reply.
A government analyst found the plantlike material to be 1.1 grams of the controlled drug cannabis.
The court heard Brangman has no similar previous convictions.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo gave him a conditional discharge for six months.
