Dandy Stars beat SCC 7-5 in the standout game in the Women’s Futsal League at Warwick Academy Gym on Saturday.
Stars’ goalscorers were Cleshaunay Darrell-Virgil (3), Kyla Ramatar (2), Kashintae Fox and Nia Christopher.
In reply, SCC’s Shauntae Todd hammered four, while Eva Frazzoni was also on the scoresheet.
Both teams matched each other’s scoring and were tied up at 4-4 at the break.
But Stars jumped out to a quick start in the beginning of the second half, scoring three more times.
SCC could only respond once, although they had most of the possession towards the end of the game.
Ebonie Burgess was outstanding for Dandy Stars in defence and Todd was equally excellent for SCC.
In the opening game of the day, Footy Force Stars cantered to an 11-1 win over HPWC.
Goals from Zara Gibbons (3), Cheyra Bell (3), Leah Smith (2), Danielle Foot (2) and Jahzyiah Samuels ensured a goal fest.
Karen Dechabert bagged the consolation for HPWC.
Footy Force started the game off slowly but by the end of the first-half they were 6-1 up and went on to cement their dominance.
Zarah Gibbons was MVP for Footy, with Dechabert outstanding for HPWC.
League leaders PHC proved way too strong for YMSC in a 9-2 success.
On target for PHC were Micah Pond (4), Jessica Furtado (3) and Taznae Fubler (2), while KyAnne Scott-Fishenden bagged a brace for YMSC.
Jessica Furtado and Micah Pond were joint MVP’s for PHC, while KyAnne Scott-Fishenden was outstanding for YMSC.
Games start at 5pm on Saturday at the Warwick Academy Gym. n
