Traffic advisory: Temporary closure of Botanical Gardens access road
The Department of Parks would like to advise the general public about a temporary road closure restricting access to the Botanical Gardens, the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Parks this weekend.
The access road into the Botanical Gardens leading from the Peace Lutheran Gate on South Shore Road to the Department of Environmental Protection will be closed at the north end as a result of cabling and concrete chamber works for the air conditioning unit at the new hospital.
Weather permitting, this section of the road will be closed from 10 am on Thursday, January 30 until Sunday evening February 2nd 2014. Traffic flow will be restricted, however clients can still access both the Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Parks through this gate.
In order to avoid traffic congestion on this access road park users of the Botanical Gardens are urged to enter and exit through the Berry Hill entrance and utilize the parking lots on the eastern side of the Botanical Gardens on Thursday, January 30th and Friday, January 31st 2014.
The Department of Parks apologizes for any inconvenience to the public while this phase of the new hospital project is completed by the contractor BCM McAlpine Ltd.
For additional information about traffic flow in Botanical Gardens during this construction phase the general public can contact the Department of Parks at 236-5902 on Thursday and Friday from 8:30 am to 4:45 pm.
