Business briefs: Montpelier Re appoints Brookman as senior vice president

Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. announced that Daniel Brookman has been appointed senior vice president, head of Capital Markets. 

Mr. Brookman will also serve as COO for Montpelier’s asset management business, Blue Capital Management Ltd. His appointment is effective immediately.

He will report to William Pollett, chief corporate development and strategy officer for Montpelier.

“We are delighted to welcome Dan to our team. He is a great addition to Montpelier at a key time in the evolution of our alternative capital products,” said Mr. Pollett.

Argo earnings call

Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. announced it will release the company’s 2013 fourth quarter financial results after the close of US financial markets on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014. 

Company management will conduct an investor conference call starting at 11am Atlantic Standard Time on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014.

Shareholders are advised that the Bermuda Stock Exchange has granted approval for a listing of 14,000,000 common Class B shares with a par value of US$0.0001 each on the BSX with effect from Wednesday, 22 January 2014. 

In accordance with the requirements of the BSX, notice is hereby given that the Class B Shares may be held by the public and will be freely tradable on the BSX from January 22.

Shareholders are further advised that, at the meeting of directors held on January 16, 2014, Hendrik van der Merwe Scholtz was appointed as a director and chairman of the company and Samuel Sithole was appointed as a director of the company. 

The appointments are effective from January 16, 2014.”
