Meeting for power engineering professionals
The Department of Workforce Development advised that it will be hosting an information session for those in the power engineering profession tomorrow, Tuesday January 7.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss proposed power engineer regulations and national certification within the profession.
The meeting will take place at the Bermuda College (Room H100) from 6.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
For the benefit of background, some examples of power engineers include:
Ø Steam Engineer
Ø Stationary Engineer
Ø Operating Engineer
Ø Steam Plant Operator
Ø Boiler Operator
Ø Building Operator
Ø Refrigerator Plant Operator
Power engineers have come to be considered as the prime movers of industry and commerce. Those employed in these positions are dedicated engineers who operate and maintain the equipment and systems which heat, cool, electrify and produce goods and services.
