The International Women’s Club of Bermuda is holding a fundraising exhibition to raise money for the Chewstick Foundation.
The exhibition will showcase a wide variety of mediums from painting and photography to quilting, clay and jewellery.
An opening reception will mark the beginning of the exhibition and will be held in the ACE Gallery on Friday, March 7 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served during the event, which is open to the public.
Some 50 works of art have been donated by IWC members and money from sales will benefit the arts and education collective, Chewstick.
The event will be held in March to coincide with Women’s History Month, which highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society.
Deidra Lee Bean of Chewstick said: “The Chewstick Foundation welcomes this partnership as the IWC’s focus is on integrating newcomers to the island in the spirit of mutual growth and understanding, thus furthering the vision of breaking down barriers to uplift the community consciousness.”
The Chewstick Foundation whose mission is to empower storytelling, creative expression and social justice to enrich youth, arts, culture and community, will also provide entertainment and a talent auction alongside the installations so that attendees can also bid on performances of poetry, steel pan singing or DJ services at your next event.
All works are available for purchases during the reception and a silent auction on pieces donated by Friends of the IWC and can be paid by cash or cheque. To purchase works after the reception, please contact [email protected] or [email protected].
