Business briefs: Insurer sponsors Newport race

The Pantaenius Group has joined the stable of sponsors for the 2014 Newport Bermuda Race.  Pantaenius American Yacht Insurance is the official lead sponsor of the 2014 Newport Bermuda Race’s web site tracker.  

Bermuda Race Organizing Committee chairman Fred Deichmann said: “Pantaenius is prominent in sailboat racing circles.  We are especially happy to have them join us in support of our 2014 race — the 49th Thrash to the Onion Patch.” 

NEWGT ratings

Best affirmed the financial strength rating of A- (Excellent) and issuer credit rating of “a-” of NEWGT Reinsurance Company, Limited (NEWGT) (Bermuda). The outlook for both ratings is stable. 

Aspen dividends

Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited has declared a quarterly cash dividend on Aspen’s ordinary shares of $0.18 per ordinary share. 

The dividend is payable on March 7, 2014 to the holders of record as of the close of business on February 21, 2014.

It also declared a dividend on its 7.401% Perpetual Non- Cumulative Preference Shares of $0.462563 per 7.401% Perpetual Preference Share. It also declared a dividend on the 7.250% Perpetual Non-Cumulative Preference Shares of $0.4531 per 7.250% Perpetual Preference Share. 

Both of those are payable April 1, 2014 to the holders of record as of the close of business on March 15.
