Yabsta gets a dose of Nasty Medicine
The Bermuda Offshore Cruising Association Veuve Clicquot got under way on Sunday.
The handicap race opened with an excellent Sprit Division battle between helm Steve Sherwin’s Nasty Medicine (Corby 41 Class) and Trevor Boyce’s Yabsta (J105).
After the times were corrected, Nasty Medicine won the day by just 38 seconds to take the first win of the series.
Sherwin’s crew recorded a time of 3 hours 11 minutes and 18 seconds, while Boyce & Co came home in 3:11:55.
In third was Herbie Feathers’ Chequemate (J105) in 3:15:47, while Peter Ramsdame’s Sadiiqi finished in 3:17:46.
In the Non-Sprit Division,
Solaise (J24) helmed by Neil Redburn initially came home second behind Roger Beach’s Premier Cru (First 375), just over four minutes behind. However, the corrected time saw Solaise take the win in 3:18:54, with Premier Cru clocking 3:28:12.
