Bermuda Energy Services Company Ltd. (BESCO) today announces that it has been awarded the maintenance contract for the Aquatics Centre at the Bermuda National Sports Centre. The contract encompasses maintenance of the mechanical and electrical systems for the facility’s new 50-metre pool.

The agreement is for weekly, quarterly and annual site inspections of mechanical and electrical systems by BESCO service technicians. BESCO was involved in the original construction project for the Aquatics Centre, including the provision of a Honeywell energy management system.

The Aquatics Centre consists of a 50-metre, eight lane swimming pool with integrated diving well, lockers and change rooms. It features the first and only Olympic size swimming pool in Bermuda and is designed for both competitive aquatic sports and leisure activities.

The Aquatics Centre is the only facility of its kind on the island. BESCO offers comprehensive services in building systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire and control systems and, as such, is well positioned to support the unique requirements of the facility.

Bryan Adams, President of BESCO, says: “We are thrilled to be able to continue to work with the Bermuda National Sports Centre on the new Aquatics Centre. Through our initial involvement during the construction phase, we not only became familiar with the facility itself, but developed a good working relationship with the pool’s management team. We look forward to continuing to work with them to offer our range of services.”

Marshall Minors, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bermuda National Sports Centre responsible for maintenance and construction, said: “We are happy to have BESCO on board to monitor and maintain the Aquatics Centre mechanical and electrical systems. BESCO is familiar with the facility and with their wide range of service offerings they are best able to work with us on this aspect of our business.”
