Ralph Richardson is the new executive director of the Bermuda Hospitals Charitable Trust. He replaces Wendy Augustus.
Mr Richardson said in a press release: “In 2002 I was invited for a tour of the KEMH facility and was made aware of the challenges faced by the staff in the deteriorating facility. For several years, in my role in the philanthropic community, I was continually apprised of the development, the proposed solutions, the challenges faced by the aging hospital. It is extremely exciting so see the project nearing completion and even more so now as I have the opportunity to assist with the final phase of the BHCT’s capital campaign.”
Mr Richardson will lead the organization in its efforts to successfully complete the ongoing Why it Matters campaign, aimed at raising $40 million in support of the KEMH Redevelopment Project. He has been involved with BHCT since January 2013, serving as an active member of the campaign’s Community Engagement Committee.
Chairman Philip Butterfield said: “We are really pleased to have Ralph onboard. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the position from his varied career in both the business and non-profit sector.”
Mr. Richardson has completed a Leadership in Philanthropy course at Stanford University and served on the boards of many non-profit organizations. Before joining BHCT, Mr. Richardson retired in 2010 from hisrole as the executive director of ACE Foundation-Bermuda.
