Real Housewives is the real deal

I have no qualms admitting that I love the Real Housewives series.

Atlanta is by far my favourite but Miami is becoming a close second.

The show features socialites including Lea Black, Adriana De Moura, Alexia Echaverria, Lisa Hochstein and Joanna Krupa.

It shows their fabulous lives. Adriana is an art gallery owner and is engaged to Frederic. Lea is married to criminal defence lawyer Roy Black and holds charity galas.

Alexia is the editor of lifestyle magazine, Venue and lives with her sons and husband Herman. Lisa, a professional housewife is married to plastic surgeon Lenny Hochstein.

Finally, Joanna is a model and her wedding to Romain Zago will be shown this season.

This show is hilarious to me because these women get loud and ratchet really quickly. ‘Ratchet’ is generally used to describe African Americans in ghetto situations, but the word certainly fits here.

Lea and Adriana no longer get along but have to make nice because their sons are best friends.

Adriana also doesn’t like Joanna and got into a physical fight with her last year.

The reason I love this show is because the fashions are fabulous and the cast is half Latin, which makes for spicy fights.

Basketball Wives is also back this year, although it has been pretty dull so far.

The show has focussed on Evelyn Lozada trying to heal after her marriage to former NFL player Chad Johnson came to an abrupt end after he head butted her during an argument. The former couple was married on July 4 and split on August 11.

While I do not condone violence, it seems strange that Lozada would be trying to garner sympathy from viewers by airing out all her issues.

Last season, she was quick to hop on a table and smack a chick or hurl a wine bottle across the table to hit another.

These crocodile tears are boring me to sleep. Besides, no one sympathizes with her anyway.

Maybe Tami will bring the ratchet soon.
