Comedian Nadanja Bailey will celebrate his birthday this weekend with the Wreck Shop Comedy Competition finals.

The event is the first ever international comedy competition finals. It will feature Queen Aisha, Cory Fernandez and Richie
Redding.

B-Phlat from Philadelphia will be the host.

Bailey said: “My birthday is on September 27 and I always do a comedy show, but this show is the first ever international comedy competition finals called ‘Wreck Shop’.

“They have comedy competitions all over the US, so I said why can’t I have one in Bermuda?

“Next year, I want it to be bigger than what it is this year.

“I want to get everything filmed from the time they leave the arrivals hall to the hotel, any excursions that we do and show it on TV.

“Hopefully the content is good so that it can be picked up by a TV channel like MTV.”

He continued: “So the comedians coming already won their first and second round last year and this is the finals. Cory Fernandez, Richie Redding, and Queen Aisha will have 20 minutes each to put their best material on the stage.

“The show will open with a performance from myself and I have asked a friend of mine B-Phlat to host the actual competition.

“She is been named the funniest woman in Philadelphia so she will also perform.”

Bailey said the grand prize is $2,000 and the audience will decide the winner by round of
applause.

The show is at The Ruth Seaton James Auditorium Saturday September 28 8:30pm.

Tickets are $40 and on sale at The 27th Century Boutique and Kit n Caboodle.

Asked why the public should attend the event, Bailey said: “I want people to come out and get a good laugh because right now most of us are going through something and right now, I think this show is right on time for a little release and relief with a good laugh.

“Some of our problems will not go away over night but we still need to find a way to enjoy life and I just want to add to the laughter in your life.”
