Mia Chambray moved across the pond to the UK two years ago to try her hand in the music scene there. Fast forward to the present, she has managed to put together a great rock band retaining the name Mohawk Radio.

Touring throughout the UK, our island girl is making waves in the UK music scene. With their first EP 1 released last November and their new EP Curious Morality set to be released this fall.

Mia will be returning home for the Family Centre Beach Bash ast the Fairmont Beach Club on Friday October 4, supported by local rock band The Kennel Boys. (See bdatix.bm)

Mia said: “This charity is particularity important to me, as I have personally experienced and been assisted by this incredible foundation in the earlier parts of my childhood.. I am just honoured to be able to give back.’

When did you last laugh out loud?

At rehearsal last night ... can’t say why ... but let’s just say those guys know how to make me scream with inappropriate laughter.

Your earliest memory?

Getting glass in my foot at Gibbets Bay

What were you like in school?

Loud. Always had my desk pulled to the front of the classroom which was worse in a way as it gave me my own area to
perform in front of the class! 

If you were given a million dollars tomorrow what would you do
with it?

Buy my family whatever they wanted. Pay off debts... Save some ... give some to charity. I would totally give people hugely unexpected tips... that would be awesome.

Who is your hero/heroine?

Without a doubt these three ladies: My mom/ Aunt/ Moushka.

Human trait you value most in others?

Sincerity.

Which cartoon character would you be?

Ariel (Little Mermaid).

Do you believe in fate?

1 million per cent.

Your greatest fear?

A dream deferred.

Most embarrassing moment?

Peeing my pants while horseback riding ...it was raining... but still I was mortified! LOL.

Your ultimate ambition?

To live everyday authentically.

Your most unappealing habit?

Leaving wet towels on the bed.

Growing. Learning. Trying.

Which human trait do you dislike the most?

Greed.

Best party you’ve ever been to?

My 5 birthday.. Cowboys and Indian theme... it was Epic.

Biggest regret?

None. We have enough guilt placed on ourselves as it is.

Closest you’ve ever come to death?

Drowning off North Shore... I was saved thank God).

Your desert island song?

Is This Love by Bob Marley

What animal would you be and why?

Kitten... I mean, do you see how many hits they get on youtube? LOL

What do you do if you can’t sleep?

I listen to rain recordings on Youtube... they send me right to sleep.

If you had a time machine, where would you go?

Woodstock, 1960s... get my muddy naked on.

Your most memorable dream?

I dreamt I performed at Madison Square Gardens... still waiting for reality to catch up.

Most unpleasant exchange you’ve have had with a person?

Hmmm... recently I had a very heated exchange with a local gym... they did what I wanted... but I got banned for life lol... very rock n roll.

Best advice you have ever taken?

Get on that plane (Mom).

If you weren’t a singer, what would you be?

I’d love to be one of those secret hotel shoppers that gives reviews... what a cool job! Wonder how I could get in on that...

Nicest thing anyone has ever said to you?

Before you there was nothing... Because of you there is everything.

What’s your best joke?

Honestly... I am crap at jokes.. so I won’t bore your readers with my poor attempts.

Most treasured possession?

My engagement ring.

A dream location for a home?

Still looking. Nothing quite compares with Bermuda.

Guilty pleasure?

Toddlers & Tiara’s / Shoes/ Cake ... lots of cake lol.

Favourite film?

Pulp Fiction.

Your proudest achievement?

Mohawk Radio’s First EP.

Most important lesson life has taught you?

Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.
