Cup success for Cooper

Bermuda’s Mackenzie Cooper helped St Mary's College of Maryland sailing team captured the Riley Cup in their season-opening weekend.

St. Mary's claimed top honours at the Riley Cup, an in-conference regatta hosted by Old Dominion University, with a one-two punch.

The teams never faltered from their hold on the top two spots, holding those same positions for the races on both Saturday and Sunday.

Junior Jacob LaDow (San Diego) and sophomore Kaitlyn Noreen (Minneapolis) guided the first-place boat with a first-place finish in Division A while first-year Mackenzie Cooper, from Southampton, and senior Nicole DeAngeli (Reno) paced the second-place Seahawk boat with a first-place finish in Division B.
