Tumble Tots Bermuda has celebrated its 28th anniversary by relaunching at its original location and is inviting the community to take advantage of its services.

The classes are now located at Bermuda Highschool For Girls. There are weekly session for Parents and Tots every Saturday starting at 9:30am (walking to three-year-olds), and Tumble Tots from 11am (for three to four year-olds).

Murdoch said: “This is an exciting age and an essential time of physical development and in particular brain development.

Its mission for the past 28 years has been to “promote strong minds through strong bodies”.

Each weekly session of Tumble Tots offers children and parents excitement and challenge in a safe, secure and caring environment. The specially designed equipment allows younger children to expeirment on the balance beam, crawl through tunnels, build structures with foam blocks, climb on the equipment, practice rolling, hopping and jumping on the mats. Parent interaction is key as this offers special focussed quality time with their child.

Part of the Bermuda Gymnastics Association, the programme for two to five-year-olds was designed by Anne Hines and Christine DeSilva who have both worked in education for over 40 years.

Their daughters Fiona Murdoch and Linda Hines have now taken over the operation which was relaunched last week.

Mental and social benefits

The physical and mental benefits to children participating in such a programme are endless, along with the social benefits of meeting and interacting with other children. As the children grow throughout the programme, you can see that the new challenges presented each week assist with their confidence and development. It’s amazing to see.”

Anne Hines added: “We have always wanted it to be affordable and available to all sectors of our community and we continue with this mission. Parents from all walks of life should have the opportunity to allow their child to grow and develop through such a movement programme.

If you would like to register your child for these classes, call Fiona Murdoch on [email protected] or Linda Hines on [email protected] or call 333-6043.
