The Sexy Sophisticate...
Make-upby Christopher Vee
On Katura I went with a look I call the Sexy Sophisticate. I went with colours I felt brought a glow to her eyes and face.
- Using Kryolans Derma Colour Light foundation palette I used three different shades to subtly contour, highlight and correct the skin leaving a beautiful soft dewy look.
- After setting the look with a translucent powder I filled in Katura’s beautiful full brows. As we all know, a finished brow frames the face perfectly!
- Katura was wearing a gorgeous bright fuchsia dress and I wanted her eyeshadows to compliment it. n After using Kryolans Eye Shadow Primer, which helps powder shadows adhere to the lid without smudging or fading, I used a matte warm gold tone from lash line to brow bone to brighten her eye area and made a great base for her skin tone.
- On top of that, I used “Wild Cherry”, from Kryolans Viva Brilliant Colour Medley shimmering eyeshadow palette, on the lid and through the outer corners to add brightness.
- Finally a soft black matte shadow was lightly blended through the crease and the corners of the eyes adding depth and the “Sexy Sophisticate” look I was talking about earlier!
- Finally black liner on top lash line and on bottom water line create a soft smokey look with lots of mascara finishing the look. Cheeks have a soft shimmery apricot blush and lips were lined in Kryolans waterproof Faceliner in chocolate #20 and a cherry toned lipstick was blended into that....

Katura’s hair was washed with Kerastase Bain Oleo-Relax, followed by a deep-conditioning treatment with Oleo-Relax Masque to tame and moisturize her naturally curly hair, giving it a longer-lasting smoother effect.
- Next it was trimmed, then an application of Ciment Thermique was worked through the hair before it was set on large rollers and dried.
- This product protects the hair from the heat of blow-drying and the protein in it strengthens the hair when the flat-irons are used by thermally activating the proteins.
- After drying, the hair was brushed and smoothed out then curled with a flat-iron.
- For a shiny, glossy, long-lasting finish Nazma worked an application of Oleo-Relax Serum through the hair for an incredible shine and smoothness and to protect hair from humidity.
- The beautifully finished hair was then pinned up with the curls to one side to give Katura a soft and chic glamour.
Product of the Month
Serum Oleo-Relax by Kerastase is recommended for clients with dry, unruly hair and contains shorea and palm oils for smoothness and long-lasting frizz protection. Apply 2-4 pumps on towel-dried hair, then style as usual, you will instantly see volume reduction and with top notes of lemon and jasmine and base notes of sandalwood and cedar, it leaves your hair gently fragranced with a silky natural feel.
