Ainslie must save Oracle before Gold Cup

Sir Ben Ainslie will get the perfect chance to warm up for his Gold Cup bid — after being drafted in as Oracle Team USA’s emergency tactician!

Oracle are in disarray so far in this year’s America’s Cup. They were 4-1 to Team New Zealand before yesterday’s races but were effectively on -1 after receiving a two-point penalty for illegally modifying their boat. Olympic legend Ainslie, who will return to Bermuda to contest the Gold Cup next month, was acting as skipper of Oracle's warm-up boat but has replaced US veteran John Kostecki as tactician. 

The first team to nine will claim the 162-year-old trophy.
