Can you feel the passion?
A new perfume called Bermuda Heat is selling well in local stores after its late August release. Distributed by PDL, it is the third in a line of island-themed perfumes, the first two of which are Bermuda Breeze and Bermuda Blue.
Gail Tribley, manager for Perfume Distributers Limited (PDL), told the Bermuda Sun, that in the fragrance business the scent is considered a ‘fruity oriental’.
She said they did a test market in the US and the UK.
Ms Tribley said taking the idea from concept to sitting on store shelves took five months.
“It took a couple of months for the name and the formula. It then took another three months for production.”
She added that finding a “catchy name is pretty important.”
Ms Tribley said the name signifies “the heat of the temperature and the passion that Bermuda has.
“The image on the box is really catchy.”
Part of the advertising for the fragrance reads: “Bermuda Heat captures the essence of Bermuda’s breathless sunsets — richness of day into night. Feel the heat and enjoy being transported back to our island paradise every time you mist Bermuda heat.”
Bermuda Heat sells for $40 and can be found at AS Cooper, Brown & Co, Gibbons Company and Carole Holding shops in Dockyard and the Fairmonts.
