UPDATE, TUESDAY 9th SEPTEMBER, 5PM: Please be advised that, due to inclement weather, Celebrating Wellness will be postponed until Wednesday, 25th September (5:00 pm – 8:00pm) in Victoria Park.
The Department of Health is inviting members of the public to join them at Victoria Park this Wednesday, from 5pm until 8pm, for ‘Celebrating Wellness’, which has been organized as part of Caribbean Wellness Day 2013 (on September 14th), World Physiotherapy Day (on September 8th), and the ongoing 'Move More Bermuda' campaign.
Celebrating Wellness aims to encourage members of the public to move more and lead a healthy lifestyle, and will highlight a number of ways in which you can do so. There will be activities for children and adults, and it is advised that attendees wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
This year’s theme focuses on youth (15 -29) – Safeguarding the Health of our Youth for a Brighter Future.
This is a free event and open to members of the public of all ages.
At Celebrating Wellness there will be displays by local dance groups, the Gymnastics Association, jump rope teams, the Bermuda Institute Steel Band and more. There will be free health screenings, giveaways and health information as well as demonstrations and a chance to participate in Crossfit, Zumba, Jazzercise, Nordic Walking and skateboarding. There will also be a number of food vendors who will be selling healthy food options.
