Watford wonders dish out six of the best to Royal Hamilton
The new snooker season got under way on Wednesday night — and Watford Sports Club 1 got off to a flyer.
They defeated Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club 6-0. Steven Bremar was up first for WSC and played the two frame games against Jon Pedro, with Bremar coming out of top 57-15 and 62-10.
Zane DeSilva defeated Tom Cunningham 60-6 and Ray DeSilva won his game against Andrew Hanwell 45-31. The doubles pairs of R. DeSilva/Z. De Silva defeated Ross Spurling/Hanwell 57-38.
Spanish Point Boat Club defeated Warwick Workman’s Club 1 4-2. Stewart Greenslade won his game against Timmy Sousa 45-23 before Keith Wilson took two games from Courtland Furbert 61-34 and 48-41. Andre Burgess won his game against Chris Dakin 67-44, while Dakin/Greenslade defeated Sousa/Burgess to take the doubles match 57-34.
Queen’s Club took five points from Warwick Workman’s Club 2.
Nadanja Bailey won the lone point for WWC by defeating Rick Dorush 54-42 and Jimmy McGill defeated Daniel Caines 41-22. Greg Swinbourne won his two games against Keith Smith 64-53 and 63-37, while the doubles saw John Nicol/Dorush defeated Reuben Burchall/Bailey 67-27.
Watford Sports Club 2 defeated Royal Artillery Association 4-2. Joseph Hayward won his game against Tony Dawson 58-48 and Keino Zuill defeated Mike McGowan in the two frame games 61-48 and 56-41. Aaron Bean defeated Honky Burrows 60-36 — and the doubles partners of Hayward/Frederick defeated Bean/Dawson 47-37.
Keino Zuill captured the high break of the night with a 26. The association would like to welcome all new players to the league. n
