Planning a party? Then everyone you need to book will be in one place a week from Saturday.

The City of Hamilton is hosting the Entertainment Trade Show on October 19 from 11am to 5pm in the retail space behind Beluga Bar in the Washington Mall.

There will be a variety of vendors, all equipped with everything you need to know to plan and host an event. From a five-year-old’s birthday party to a swanky cocktail reception.

Thomas Lightbourne of the Corporation of Hamilton said: “Every year, we have a brainstorming session and the idea was brought up in the session.

“We didn’t know there was a need for this event. We get numerous calls a week for people asking for vendors and their contact information.

“We realised there was a need for it so here we are.”

Mr Lightbourne said there will be 20 to 25 vendors ready to share their expertise with you.

Party time

“It’s geared to every type of event. You can get information for your child’s birthday party right up to your corporate Christmas party.

“We’re going to have party planners, decorators, videographers, photographers, and more.”

He continued: “It’s one location to get information from.

“The vendors will offer special rates if you book with them there. There might also be percentages off for future bookings.”

In addition to the vendors, there will also be entertainment on City Hall’s lawn, including fun castles for the children.”

Asked why the public should attend the event, Mr Lightbourne said: “I would encourage people to come out first because it’s a free event and it’s something to do.

Resources

“Come and find out all the great things that Bermuda does offer. A lot of people think we don’t have the resources and capabilities to do things we see on TV.

“This is an opportunity to see that we can.

“It’s going to be a fun and friendly atmosphere. Come out and see what we have to offer.”
