Six kids and two parents make up TI and Tiny: The Family Hustle, a wildly popular show on VH1.
The show airs on Monday nights following Basketball Wives.
At first, I was very sceptical about this show as it seem liked a ghetto Cosby Show.
For those of you who don’t watch the show, TI is an Atlanta rapper married to Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle, also from Atlanta.
Tiny used to be a member of R&B group Escape and has written hit songs for many artists. In the show, she shows her motherly side.
Between them, the couple has six children; four boys and two girls — Zonnique, Messiah, Domani, Deyjah, King and Major.
Despite the heavy Southern accents and the slight bit of ratchet, it is actually a very good show.
Each episode shows TI and Tiny trying to teach the children valuable lessons.
Monday night’s episode showed TI preparing to go out on tour with Lil Wayne and telling his children goodbye.
Little do they know, TI would never leave them at home and has plans for them to come out tour with him. But, he convinces the kids that they need to work in order to be apart of his entourage.
The first stop of the tour is Birmingham, Alabama. King and Major, the youngest boys are assigned security detail, Messiah and Domani, the oldest boys are in charge of wardrobe and Deyjah is the concierge.
But everything goes wrong.
King and Major let people onto the bus without credentials, Deyjah eats the food that’s meant for the artists and Domani and Messiah can’t get the wardrobe together.
Family dynamics
The second night of the tour, TI hopes his kids can pull it all together, but can they?
All in all, this is a good family show because it shows not only the dynamic between parents and their children, but it also shows how a successful rapper raises his six kids.
Yes, they are wealthy and don’t want for anything, but TI and Tiny instill work ethic in their kids and that’s something that seems rare in the world of celebrity kids these days.
