The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce and Bermuda Sun are partners for a first-of-its-kind summit to give local businesses the knowledge they need for growing revenue through social media.

The two-day summit, “Making Social Media Work for Your Business”, will take place Thursday, October 17th and Friday, October 18th.  It will include presentations from international experts including Jackie Guzman of Tilson Public Relations in Florida.  Ms Guzman counts Dunkin Donuts among her clients.  Meantime, Joseph Romanelli of Romanelli Communications will offer his social media knowledge – not least of which is his years of experience managing social media strategies for the Boston Marathon, including in 2013 when the actions of terrorists changed everything.

Meantime, the social media experts at CellOne will provide specifically tailored information.  Plus an assembled list of local experts will offer insights on tools, concepts and strategies for getting noticed and winning revenue on social media.  The following is a list of local businesspeople scheduled to sit on panels or present to the conference:

  • Karolina De Costa; Rowe Spurling Paint
  • Jeremy Deacon; Deep Blue Communications
  • Sophie Dier, Elbow Beach, Bermuda
  • Nikki Fagan; AAC Saatchi & Saatchi
  • Emma Horton; A.S. Cooper & Sons
  • Debra Narraway; Bermuda Cancer & Health
  • Karriem Sharrieff; Bermemes
  • Clifton Webb; Go Social

The summit will take place primarily at the Chamber of Commerce headquarters on Front Street, but will involve other locations as well including a cocktail reception on Thursday evening.Local business decision makers and marketers must understand how to reach and engage consumers on social media if they want to earn new customers and better monetize the ones they have.  This is their chance to get the knowledge needed for success on social media.
