Ken Joaquin will leave Bermuda Aviation Services to join his family in Canada.
Mr Joaquin is the current CEO of the company. He will be replaced by Ian Cook.
Michael Darling, BAS chairman said in a press release: “We are pleased to announce the promotion of Bermudian, Mr. Ian Cook, to the position of president and Group Chief Executive Officer of Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. effective 1 November, 2013.
“Ken has been a great asset to BAS over the last decade and has had a major role in our success during a time of exciting growth and acquisition. We do, however, appreciate the dynamics of family and wish Ken and his wife and children well.”
“Succession planning has always been integral to BAS’s growth and success and we recognize that it is vital to develop internal talent to provide for future leadership requirements. Therefore, we were well placed in our ability to transition Ian, who had been identified as a likely successor, into the leadership role at BAS.”
Mr Darling said Mr Cook was “an ideal candidate to assume the mantle of CEO.”
Mr Cook served as an operations manager in the UK,where he project managed 12 airports.
