They are the wind beneath his sails.
Digicel Bermuda is sponsoring Lance Fraser and his match racing team in this year’s Argo Gold Cup.
The Digicel Business Match Racing team, formerly known as Fraser Match Racing, has competed since 2009 in numerous international events. For the Argo Gold Cup, which starts next week, the team consists of Fraser, Adam Barboza, Michael Rehe, and Nico Stefani.
Fraser became the youngest skipper in history to compete in the World Match Race Tour when he represented Bermuda in the 2010 Argo Group Gold Cup at the age of seventeen. Fraser has been match racing for five years and is excited to compete in his fourth Argo Group Gold Cup.
Thrilled
He said: “I am thrilled to have the support of Digicel for this year’s Argo Group Gold Cup and to sail under the Digicel Business Match Racing brand. This will be the third year that our team has had Digicel support for this event and it has been invaluable to our racing success on a local and international level.”
Shane McDonnell, Digicel Bermuda sales director, added: “We have seen Lance grow from year to year, with his current match racing rank at 71st in the world. This year, we are proud to once again sponsor this team, now known as the Digicel Business Match Racing team. We wish Lance and his team all the best as they go head to head with some of the best sailors in the world, including former Gold Cup Champion and recent America’s Cup winner, Sir Ben Ainslie.” n
