It’s cruel to poke fun but... let’s face it, there’s too little levity in our daily lives.
The two police officers who got their patrol car stuck in the flood waters of Bakery Lane on Monday became an instant social media hit. They were pictured exiting their car after it stalled out in front of Pembroke Paint.
Facebook wags were quick off the mark:
• ‘It’s a SUB-aru’
• ‘The latest marine police
• ‘Police take their vehicle down to the Bakery Lane Car Wash’
But you can do better, right? Send your fun captions to our photo editor Gary Skelton: [email protected] and we’ll print the best of them.
Add Bradford City striker Nahki Wells to the list of people who have used the ice cream therapy method.
Wells was home on his couch on Saturday night nursing an injured ankle after Bradford City’s 2-1 victory.
He tweeted to his followers: “Gutted to be home on sofa while all lads are getting suited and booted for night out!” He later tweeted a photo of Haagen-Dazs Cookies & Cream “This will cheer me up.”
It’s unclear how serious the injury is or whether Wells will be fit for the next Bradford City match.
Miss Bermuda, Katie Arnfield, represented the island well in the just concluded Miss World Pageant. On Facebook she thanked all her followers: “After an amazing month in Indonesia, I’m coming home! 12th out of 131 contestants in the people’s choice award. I hope I made you proud Bermuda, I will never forget this place and the incredible people I have met! Thank you so much Bermuda for this once in a life time opportunity!”
