Hooked on the sexy stars of New Atlanta

I’ve found a new reality show that I love.

New Atlanta premiered a few weeks ago on Bravo and I’m hooked.

It follows five young up and coming Atlanta natives — their careers, their love lives, their parties and most interestingly, their drama.

Africa Miranda is the star of the show. Originally from Alabama, Africa is a singer, dancer, and actress looking for her big break. She is working in the studio with easy-on-the-eyes Vawn, who encourages her to step outside of her comfort zone. Clearly there is clearly chemistry there and hopefully they will give in to temptation at some point this season.

Alex Dilworth is a spoiled college student whose daddy pays for everything, including implants.

She wants to be a trophy wife, staying home and pleasing her man. Alex plans to have three kids and adopt three more.

The sad thing is, Alex does not look anything like a trophy wife should, so I’m not sure how her plan will pay out. Plus, her weave is atrocious.

Emily owns a luxury jeans boutique in Atlanta and is a firecracker.

At a dinner for Alex, Emily grilled her about her aspirations as a trophy wife. Emily couldn’t understand why in 2013, a young woman would be satisfied being a housewife, better yet a trophy wife.

Things heated up at Africa’s birthday party when the two women got into an argument and glasses were broken. I expect many more altercations this season.

Vawn is the super cool producer who has worked with The Dream and Blu Cantrell.

He has a smart mouthed son who is always asking why he doesn’t have a girlfriend. The kid is hilarious. There’s seems to be a love triangle in the works between Africa, Vawn and Alex. Hopefully he picks the non-wannabe trophy wife.

Tribble is described as a ‘Ken Doll’ and is a possible love match for Africa. She admits she has never dated a white man, but find him attractive.

The show has a ton of promise as its stars are not only sexy, but are smart, too. 

The New Atlanta airs on Bravo on Tuesdays at 10pm. n
