“Each year, the funds raised by those who generously pledge to support participants in the Catlin End-to-End event go to a number of local worthy causes,” says Anne Mello, chair of the End-to-End.
“In most years, our 2,500-plus amazing participants and their supporters raise close to $250,000,” she adds. “Over the course of our 26-year history we have distributed more than $4.5 million to Bermuda charities.”
To qualify for funding, charities must be registered in Bermuda, not affiliated with any religious or other sectarian group, and serve the local community. They must also be able to provide complete financial statements.
Charities wishing to be considered must download and complete the official application form from the End-to-End’s website, bermudaendtoend.bm and return it to the charity by November 1.
“Since we receive more than 50 submissions for support each year, we must stress that only complete applications can be considered,” Mrs. Mello says.
The Catlin End-to-End event is organised by the Bermuda End-to-End Charitable Trust’s Board, and is supported by numerous local sponsors and individual event participants.
The Catlin End-to-End’s mission is to be Bermuda’s premier annual charitable pledge event, committed to promoting the happiness and wellbeing of our island community through all-inclusive activities.
