The City of Hamilton today announced the start of the city-wide Christmas Windows Display Competition. This competition is the result of meetings that have taken place over the last few months by the Late Night Shopping Committee which comprises the City of Hamilton team, the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, BELCO and BEDC/EEZA representatives together with retailers. A campaign was created to encourage Bermuda residents to spend and keep their Christmas dollars in Bermuda.
There are over 20 Hamilton retailers that will be participating in the Window Display Competition which begins on Friday, November 29 at Late Night Shopping. Residents and consumers will be able to vote for their favourite window until December 16, 2013 at 5pm in which the votes will then be tallied and the winner announced on December 17 and 18.
There will be three ways that the people can vote for their favourite window; online at the City of Hamilton Facebook Page www.facebook.com/corporationofhamilton, ballots boxes at Late Night Shopping on Friday evenings, and ballot boxes at City Hall Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. The retailer with the most votes by December 16 will be declared the winner. The winner will receive a $500 gift voucher sponsored by BELCO towards their electricity, a $500 gift voucher sponsored by Cablevision toward the store’s cable and/or internet and a full page ad in and sponsored by the Bermuda Sun. Two honourable mentions will also be named.
The Christmas Committee 2013 is happy to bring this competition as an addition to the Christmas in the City Late Night Shopping excitement. For more information please visit the City of Hamilton website www.cityofhamilton.bm or email [email protected].
