Ryan Parris, 17, a Bermudian student who attends Trinity College School in Ontario, Canada, has received two awards at the school’s recent Sports Awards.
The Grade 12 student is in his last year at boarding school.
Parris, the co-captain of the Bigside Soccer Team, received the award for MVP for the team as well as the Soccer Distinction Award — the highest level award for sports at the school.
The Corona League’s Bistro Challenge Cup draw was made at Bistro at The Beach on Front Street this week.
There will be two preliminary games on December 6: North Village v Vasco (6.30pm) and West End United v Lock and Key (8.30pm).
The quarter finals will see the winner of Village v Vasco take on Flanagan’s Onions at 6.30pm on February 7, while the winner of West End United v Lock and Key will play Lobster Pot at 8.30pm, also on February 7. The other last-eight games will take place on February 8 and are: Tuff Dogs v BAA (4pm) and Valley v Robin Hood (6pm).
Michael Sims slipped down the leaderboard at the Second Stage of Q School at the Plantation Preserve Golf Club in Plantation, Florida yesterday.
The Bermudian golfer shot a third round three over to leave him one under overall and tied for 49th.
The top 20 and ties qualify for the finals of Tour School for the PGA Tour. The final round in Florida takes place today.
