The Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed its National Academy — supported by the XL Foundation and the Bank of Bermuda Foundation — will start its winter training programme this Sunday for the Under-13 and Under-15 age-groups.
The players will work in their specialist areas of batting, pace bowling, spin bowling and wicketkeeping.
Players will also be assessed on a regular basis and will be working to meet certain targets throughout the programme.
As a member of the Academy, players will have the chance to attend an optional cricket development tour to South Africa in February.
This will include coaching sessions at Boland Academy and Newlands and at least six cricket games against local schools.
There may also be a chance to watch some first class senior cricket, while in addition to training and games, a safari tour and excursions to Robben Island, Houtbay and Cape Point are also pencilled in.
Players have been working hard throughout the year to raise funds to pay for this once-in-a-life-time experience at a top cricket nation.
