The Christmas Boat Parade is back this year and it’s not too late to enter a boat into the competition.

Some sixty boats have already registered to take part in the event which is on December 7 (rain date December 8) so the popular event is already set to be spectacular.

There is space for additional boatsand organizers are encouraging boat owners and skippers to register.

“This is the biggest spectator event of the year”, said Steve Thompson, spokesperson for the
organizers.

“So far we’ve got a good parade but we’re appealing to boat owners to help us make it a great one.

Anyone considering entering can do so online by visiting bermudaboatparade.bm, and enter now”.

Those planning to watch the parade from their own boats need to be aware that in order to ensure a safe parade Hamilton Harbour will shut down to both
commercial and private boat traffic after 5:30 pm.

There will also be “No Anchor Zones” near the parade route.

“Only boats entered and participating in the parade will be allowed to be close to the parade route,” said Thompson.

“We must put safety first and regrettably ask spectator boats to remain at anchor at a distance from the boats moving in the parade.”

The parade begins at 6:30pm from the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel and travelling clockwise around White’s Island.
