Bermuda received a welcome confidence-booster ahead of the World Twenty20 qualifiers with a last–ball, three-wicket victory in their final warm-up game against Canada in Dubai.
Canada posted 182 for five — an impressive 9.10 runs an over — with Hiral Patel blasting 64 off 50 balls. Kamau Leverock was expensive but claimed two wickets for 43 off four overs, while Malachi Jones got danger man Patel on his way to two for 28 off three. Captain Janeiro Tucker bowled two overs for 24, claiming one wicket.
Dion Stovell and Jacobi Robinson, while wicketless, were the most economical, going for 29 and 31 respectively off their allotted four overs.
In reply, Bermuda lost regular wickets in the top order with Terryn Fray, Lionel Cann and David Hemp all going cheaply. However, Stovell (55) and Tucker (42 off just 20 balls) put on 67 for the fourth wicket before Allan Douglas freed his arms with three sixes in his quick-fire 29.
It was touch and go at the end but K Tucker and Leverock got their team over the line, sealing victory with the last ball.
Meanwhile, the ICC has announced that Bermuda's Qualifier clash against Nepal on November 23 will be streamed live from 6am Bermuda time via www.icc-cricket.com
