The favour of God is a much-heralded topic.
Indeed many “seek” to have the favour of God poured upon their lives.
However, many overlook the biblical realities of being God’s favoured child.
In reality, the picture of favour is not a pretty one.
It is a victorious one, but it is not easy at all.
What does it mean to be favoured? To be favoured means that God has pulled you out of the called crowd into the chosen crowd.
The chosen crowd is expected to bear significant and even strange trials, tests, and tribulations.
God knows that the chosen ones are able to go through contrary circumstances and experience victory because that is how God conditions His chosen children.
Prestige
Take a look at Joseph. There can be no doubt that Joseph was God’s favoured servant.
Indeed, the church heralds his final place of prestige in the palace.
Yet, there was so much that Joseph, the favoured child, endured before he made it to the palace.
The question you must challenge yourself with is, “Are you willing to go through your own pitiful relationships and pit-places in order to reach the prestigious palace of victory in your life?”
Joseph was favoured; that’s the bottom-line.
Joseph received an inherited natural favour from Israel (Jacob) his biological father, and supernatural favour from God The Father.
You would think that would provide an easy passage or pathway to success.
No, the truth is that because Joseph was highlighted as a person of unusual favour he would have to go through unusual hardships.
Genesis 37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
Joseph experienced favor because of his father’s love. He was the love child of Israel (Jacob) and Rachel.
The love child is always the preferred child.
When The Father (GOD) prefers you, you will also experience favour.
Is favour good? Sure it is. Yet, you will also find that favour is not fair to you or others.
Favour will set you apart from them and set you up to experience tests, trials, and tribulations unlike any other.
There was something quite obvious about Joseph.
Actually, there were a few obvious things concerning Joseph.
His father loved him more.
His father favoured him more.
His father demonstrated that favour in an obvious way.
Joseph had a coat that spoke volumes even though it had no audible voice.
The coat spoke of the fact that Joseph was different, and Jacob was not ashamed to acknowledge his special love and care towards Joseph.
The coat “shouted” and “screamed” that no one was as favoured by his or her father as was Joseph.
Your coat coats your life with a different “colour.”
Your coat is more than what you wear on the outside; it is who you are on the inside.
The coat is more than an outer garment; it is an inner garment of a sincere heart of integrity towards God.
Rough times
Your coat of many colours will get you through unfavourable moments, and it is the coat you will need to get you through rough times.
Genesis 37:4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.
Be assured that those who hate that you are favoured may take your physical coat away from you, but no one can ever remove from you the inner coat of an excellent spirit.
God has favoured you beyond what can be seen with the natural eye. God has given you what you will need in order to become who He has already spoken that you shall be.
So how about that favour? Are you ready to be favoured by God? Are you ready to be favoured and go through whatever circumstances to prove that you are not only called but that God has chosen you?
Go for it! Walk in favour today. RESPICE FINEM. n
