A 10-day seminar examining the relationship between Islam and Christianity will begin next Friday, November 8.
The seminar, hosted by the Warwick Seventh-day Adventist Church, will feature Tim Roosenberg, author of the book Islam and Christianity in Prophecy.
The purpose of the seminar, according to a press release, is to present Bible prophecy over a span of 2,500 years, depicting the history of Islam and Christianity, as well as the conflicts that have arisen today.
“Islam and Christianity” Bible prophecy seminar is based on Daniel 11:2 to 12:3. In this prophecy, Daniel chronologically covers history from the start of his time, 535 BC on through and past our time.
According to the release, history has shown that Daniel’s predictions have been accurate for the last 2,500 years and the belief is that his prophecies will continue to be accurate.
While the prophecy has not painted a nice picture of the majority of Christianity and Islam, the hope is that the seminar can bring some understanding to current events.
Current conflict
Most notably the seminar will look at the issues that are currently occurring in Egypt.
In Daniel 11 it predicts the overthrow of Egypt by the Christian powers. There is some indication, according to the press release, that the future Egypt will no longer be a friend of the US or Israel.
Some of the subject matter presented may be volatile but it will be presented in a respectful manner and the organisers have requested that participants are respectful of each other, especially as both Christians and Muslims have attended past seminars and appreciated the respectful nature in which the information has been presented.
Seminars that are featured over the 10 days will include Islam and Christianity –– The Basics, Tidings From the East and The Mark of the Beast, and Jesus Rescues His People.
Each seminar will also be presented a second time the following evening at 5.30pm Admission is free and a meal is provided every evening at the 7.15pm events (except opening night).
Mr Roosenberg began his career as a pastor before switching full time to a seminar speaker.
His passion for the Bible and its status and teachings as a Christian authority on life has come from his 30 years of studying the prophecy.
The seminar will take place every evening at the Warwick Seventh-day Adventist Church auditorium at 92 South Road in Warwick beginning at 7.15pm on Friday, November 8.
