Obesity expert to speak on sugar

A free seminar entitled ‘Sugar: The Bitter Truth’ will be on Tuesday, June 11 at 6.30pm in the Harbourview Ballroom at The Fairmont Hamilton Princess. 

The guest speaker is Dr. Robert H. Lustig, MD, who is becoming known worldwide as the authority on obesity and the underlying causes.

Debbie Jones, board member of Bermuda Diabetes Association, said: “We are excited to be welcoming Dr. Lustig to Bermuda following his recent tour of the UK His work on sugar and its links to diabetes and obesity is extremely relevant here as diabetes is very common in Bermuda and a serious threat to the quality of life for so many. According to recent statistics, as many as one in four Bermudians are living with or are at risk of diabetes.
