Bermuda Day holiday garbage collection schedule
The Waste Management Section of the Ministry of Public Works would like to inform the public that household garbage collection will change during the week of the Bermuda Day public holiday.
In the west end household garbage will be collected on the usual collection days, Monday, May 20th and Thursday May 23rd. In the east end household garbage will be collected on Tuesday, May 21st and Wednesday May 22nd. Household recycling is collected every other week and will be collected on Thursday May 30th(west end) and Friday May 31st (east end).
Due to the volumes of waste and recycling generated during holiday celebrations the Waste Management section would also like to take this opportunity to encourage members of the public to include trash and recycling bags when packing picnic items. By bagging waste and recyclables and placing them next to public bins Parks and Collections workers can more efficiently keep our beaches and Park areas clean for all to use.
For further information regarding the correct disposal of household waste and recycling go to www.wastemanagement.gov.bm, join Waste Management on Facebook at www.facebook.com/recyclebermuda, or see the “What Goes Where” in the BTC phone book blue pages.
