Why wait until the New Year to start afresh? An upcoming fundraiser will give you the opportunity to reinvent yourself while helping a worthy charity.

You 2.0 Reinvent Yourself is a fashion and trade show that will help raise much needed funds for the Centre Against Abuse.

The “fun and practical” fundraiser takes place at the Eatl Cameron Theatre at City Hall on Sunday, May 19 under the kind patronage of the Governor’s wife, Mrs. Fergusson.

The Centre Against Abuse invites you to explore the possibilities for a new You! CAA and its partners will provide tips and inside secrets to dressing for success. You may be between jobs and looking for an edge to take you into your next career. Or perhaps you had a weight adjustment and need to dress for your new size. Maybe you just want to renew and refresh your look.

YOU 2.0 will offer fashion advice, make up guidance, job interview skills, resume hints and, best of all, showcase the summer’s latest fashions from the island’s top boutiques modelled by businesswomen of Bermuda.

The volunteer models come from all walks of life and include Judy Hall-Bean and Debi Ray-Rivers, students Kourtney Roberts and Jazz Shiell, as well as CAA boardmembers Angela Brangman and Marisa Sharpe:

“We are delighted to bring together a number of shops on the island, as well as our own clothing store, to display the fantastic clothing options available to women right here in Bermuda,” said Laurie Shiell, CAA’s executive director. “Exciting extras include a make-up demonstration of Gibbons Company’s Black Up line, which is make-up for all skin types, style advice by designer Regina Q and job skills and hot tips by Bermuda Executive Services. This is a great opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of fashion and fresh ideas.”

Participating retailers are Boutique CC, Daisy’s, CAA’s Dress for Success, Gibbons Company, Marks & Spencer and 27th Century Boutique.

The all-inclusive patron ticket is $50 and includes a cocktail reception prior to the fashion show. General admission tickets are $30 and there is a cash bar. Tickets are available online at www.ptix.bm <http://www.ptix.bm> . Gibbons Company has donated five beauty makeovers which are being raffled at $5 per ticket. These are available online as well as on the day at the venue. Additional information is on the CAA website, www.centreagainstabuse.bm <http://www.centreagainstabuse.bm> .
