Philippians 4:19

“But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” 

The bills are piling up more than the money is coming in. 

Many of us are worrying and wondering how we are going to have enough to make ends meet.

We often think that we are the ones to have to figure out how to fix a problem and how to get it done fast. 

Yes, we do have things we must take responsibilty for, but there are some things that only God can do in our lives.

Worrying about things only makes the situation worse. 

I understand that life is full of challenges and struggles, but our Heavenly Father is greater than this and has the power over all those challenges and struggles we face. 

In Luke 12 Jesus encourages his disciples with this: “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.”

23 “The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.”

24 “Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: How much more are ye better than the fowls?” 

25 “And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?” 

26 “If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?” (Luke 12: 22 – 26)

We can be comforted and encouraged through the same words that Jesus shares with his disciples. I believe these same words are for us as well. 

You and I don’t have to sit up stressing over the daily needs for our lives and the lives of others. 

Our loving Father has got this thing already worked out! Jehovah-Jireh our provider will never forsake you. 

Can we add to our stature? No! 

Jesus tells his disciples that if they are not able to do that little thing, than why take thought for the rest. 

This let’s us know that it makes no sense for us to allow anxiety and fear to crippple us if there is a God who is faithful in caring for His children. 

Do you remember how God provided for you before  so that you can pay the bills? 

Do you remember how God worked a miracle in your time of need?  

That same God is still on the throne and He never changes and His power will never run out.

Futher down in Luke 12 Jesus says: “Consider the lilies how they grow: They toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” 

28 “If then God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?” (Luke 12: 27, 28)

I know there are economic challenges out there, but who is your true source for all your needs? 

If nature is taken care of by God, even if you need clothes He will send it to you! 

That’s the kind of God we have. He keeps all His promises and nurtures us like no one else can. God will take care of you!

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for all the times you have provided for me. 

Help me to rest and trust in that whatever I need you will provide and take care of me. 

In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
