The Bermuda Cricket Board will be holding an ICC Level I Coaching Course conducted by national coach David Moore. The Level I Course is free to all participants. The course is open to all players, ex-players, interested supporters, parents and coaches.
The Level I Coaching Course covers the following areas: Athlete preparation, basics in batting, bowling, fielding, wicketkeeping, captaincy, biomechanics in cricket, coaching principles, game sense training, group/net coaching, the mental game, presentation skills (how to coach skills), and skill Acquisition (teaching methods & techniques). The course will be held at Dellwood Middle School gymnasium starting at 6pm and finishing at 9pm on the following evenings: May 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29.
Coach Moore said: “It is vital that young players receive the direction and coaching that will allow them to learn the skills and tactics of the game. It enables the players to experience success and enjoy the game. This coaching course is a wonderful balance between practice and theory and will equip all attendees with the skills and knowledge to assist our young Bermudians in their cricket development. I look forward to working with these committed volunteers and open them to the teaching and coaching experiences that I am so lucky to enjoy.”
