James 4:8: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”

There are hunger pains striking within. A spiritual dryness paired with a longing for something more.

There are times we are dehydrated and lacking the energy we need.

The tools we need for spiritual health and growth are all available.

If we are honest there have been, or are times, we allow the everyday activities to cause us to become distant from or to put on hold the things that matter the most.

God desires intimacy with us and we as believers should desire intimacy with Him.

We may ask ourselves or another, ‘Why does it seem like I have drifted?’

What are we putting first in our lives? What are we feeding on most of the time?

In our spiritual lives there are times the excitement is high, there are times the excitement is low and sometimes it seems like it’s gone.

When the excitement is low or it seems like it’s gone we may stop spending intimate and quality time with God based on how we feel and what we see.

James 4:8: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”  

Prayer should be very important in our lives. That’s our communication with God.

Like two or more people communicating with each other we must not only speak, but take time out to listen for His voice.

As we pray earnestly and consistently we are drawing near to God. Praise and worship is something that should be a part of our daily lives.

There are different ways to praise and worship God and it doesn’t have to be like the next person.

We can praise God in song, with words, using instruments, in dance and in other ways.

Worship is not only what is done in church, but it must be our lifestyle.

Drawing near to God in praise and worship, we will experience Him and will be refreshed and renewed.

The Word of God is our sword against the Devil. We must take in plenty of doses of the Word.

We must continually feed on the Word and with God’s help we must apply the Word to our lives. Often times it’s the applying of the Word that we have difficulty with, but when we surrender to God the Word will be applied to our lives.

Prayer

Dear Lord, I thank you that your love for me is unconditional.

As I draw near to you I know that you will draw near to me.

Thank you for being faithful in every way.
