Inspiring moments / The Crooked Places Made Straight
Meditation
Isaiah 45:2: I will go before you and make the crooked places straight. (NKJV)
I sit here thinking about crooked places. The things in this world that don’t lead us in the right direction.
The confusion and chaos that makes a mess of things. Those things that are deformed from their original design.
Many times while on the path of this life circumstances can get crooked and dull.
The picture that was clear and exciting becomes distorted and blurred.
How did we get here we may ask ourselves? The contradictions all around are not the reality of our purpose and calling.
We can be encouraged that God is going before us and making the crooked places straight.
We may not see it right now, but this life is meant to be a faith walk.
After the picture becomes distorted and dull we may get tempted to believe this is the truth of my life, this is who I am and where I will be for the rest of my life.
The truth is that God takes those things that are a mess and in a state of confusion and works it together for our good.
The truth is that God will instruct us and teach us in the way we should go. We only have to be willing and obedient to His will and way.
The Creator and Master is the only one who can get us back to our original design.
• Surrender
This is the place where we give up what we think should be, and how we can fix it and give in to the Lord’s guidance and direction.
• Obedience
What is God telling you to do? What are the principles in His word that we need to apply for our lives? Obedience is better than sacrifice.
As we surrender and obey we will no longer allow what we see to cause us to digress.
The picture does come clear again and the crooked places do become straight.
Doors will begin to open and we will see all things come together.
That dream you had will come into reality. The goals set under God’s guidance will fall into place. You will be made whole and anything lacking will be provided.
God has it all under control. He is not shocked nor thrown off the throne by our circumstances.
He remains on the throne and already has it worked out.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you that you are going before me and making the crooked places straight.
Help me to put my trust in you during difficult times.
Help me to surrender to your will and way.
In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
