The time is coming up for the Big Brother Big Sisters of Bermuda’s second annual charity walk which will raise funds for their child mentoring programmes.

The BBBS Annual 5k Friendship Walk takes place on Sunday, March 24 starting at Charities House and the organization is looking for as many participants as possible.

Patrina Paynter O’Connor of BBBS said: “Since this is a “Friendship Walk” we are encouraging everyone to gather a group of their friends together and join in.  It is a very scenic route that takes you from Charities House on Point Finger Road through Crow Lane throughout Hamilton and back. Many people that participated last year truly enjoyed it. Whether you are a speed walker or casual stroller this walk is for everyone. This is also an awesome opportunity for students to get some community service hours. This is a fundraiser for BBBS so every amount raised counts.

Participants have the option of either collecting pledges on the attached pledge sheet or making a donation of $10. Pledge sheets are available.

O’Connor added that the organization would like participants to wear a white T-shirt though school groups, companies, sororities and fraternities are welcome to wear T-shirts of their organization.

Anyone interested in participating should email [email protected] or call 232-2802.
