A quick pit stop to refuel a private jet on a small island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean is usually drama-free. Unless you’re Chris Brown.

He’s known worldwide for his voice, his killer dance moves and his smile. Not to mention the fact that he beat up his girlfriend Rihanna four years ago. Brown is a celebrity some people love to hate.

And an incident in Bermuda — reported in a Bermuda Sun online world exclusive that drew thousands of readers and went viral — will do little to mend his image.

As we wrote on our website on Wednesday afternoon, the American bad boy allegedly got into an altercation with his bodyguard. Brown had arrived in Bermuda at 1:30pm on Wednesday on a private plane, which stopped here to re-fuel.

The Bermuda Sun was told — though we still have no formal confirmation — that there was an altercation on board with bodyguard Big Pat who, as a result, made his way back to New York on a Jet Blue flight.

Our story was picked up by news sites worldwide including MSN, The Daily Mail, The Sun, The Boston Herald, United Press International and International Business Times. It also appeared on entertainment sites and gossip blogs including E Online, Perez Hilton, Hollywood Life, Necole Bitchie and Media Takeout.

We called and emailed Brown’s PR representative Nicole Perna at BWR Public Relations, but did not receive a reply. We also Tweeted Chris Brown, but heard nothing back.

Aaron Adderley, general manager for the LF Wade International Airport confirmed Brown was in Bermuda: “Yes, Mr Brown’s plane did have a scheduled refueling stopover in BDA yesterday [Wednesday] afternoon as reported,” Mr Adderley told us by email. “I’m afraid I cannot confirm anything beyond that.”

Eugene Ball, manager for Aircraft Services Bermuda also refused to comment on the incident and said: “I am unable to confirm what may have taken place as I did not work that flight.”

But within hours of the incident on Wednesday, an airport worker, and trusted source, had told us: “I’m not sure of the details of what happened on the plane but his plane came in, got serviced and everything was finishing and they were getting ready to leave.

“Then there was a stall. The security guard got off first. He was standing outside talking to the pilot. Then Chris Brown and another guy came off.”

Our source continued: “They had to come inside to Customs. They then went outside to have a cigarette. The security guard came inside [an airport building] and said he wasn’t getting back on the plane.”

“The airport worker said the man told him he had got into an altercation with Brown. “Chris went back through Customs and the plane left at about 2.20pm.”

Our source said Big Pat made arrangements to leave on Jet Blue’s afternoon flight to JFK and saw him getting on the plane. A police source also confirmed that Big Pat left on that flight.

But the drama didn’t end there. Later Wednesday night, Brown attended a charity event in Los Angeles where he got into an altercation with a parking attendant. TMZ broke the story Wednesday night with a video showing Brown threatening the valet over a $10 charge to retrieve his car.

According to www.tmz.com, Brown attended a charity event for inner-city youth at PINZ Bowling Alley in Studio City when he lost his cool.

“But when Chris went to get his car from the valet, the guy working the parking lot asked for the $10 charge and Chris got pissed.

“After the valet made it clear he couldn’t release the car without the cash, the singer and his posse surrounded the guy and at one point you can hear Chris say, ‘F**k 10 dollars’.”

The website reports Brown was angry he had to pay because he was only at the event for 30 minutes and felt like he was getting “ripped off”.

“As tensions grew, someone in Chris’ posse can be heard saying ‘We got the money, don’t worry about it’. But Chris did worry about it ... and in a threatening manner, told the valet, ‘We gonna turn this whole thing on out’.”

On the video, Brown is seen walking away and said: “Funky a** 10 dollars”, before grabbing his keys and driving away.

Brown is infamous for attacking his then-girlfriend Rihanna the night before the Grammy’s in February 2009. The couple has since reconciled.

Big Pat took a bottle to the head in June at WIP Club in New York during an altercation between Brown and rapper Drake. He suffered a massive gash to his head during the incident.

Prior to touching down in Bermuda, Brown had performed Tuesday night at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana, West Africa.
