Nahki Wells has been watching DVDs of himself in a bid to recapture his scintillating early-season form.
The Bermuda striker, Bradford City’s leading scorer with 18, has slipped from his high standards in recent weeks and was dropped from Tuesday night’s starting line-up against Port Vale.
However, manager Phil Parkinson believes the dip is a natural part of the 22-year-old’s first full season in League Two and has sat the former Dandy Town man down in front of the TV to remind him of what he was doing earlier in the season.
The striker came off the bench in the 0-0 draw against Vale — and Parkinson was pleased Wells’ cameo showed renewed confidence and sharpness.
The Bantams boss told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus: “Nahki has had a bit of a dip but I saw signs when he came on that he’s back to what he’s all about.
“I know he played a lot last year but this is his first full season of football and he’s got to understand that you’ll have dips along the way.
“Good players come out of those dips and it’s my job to make him understand what he needs to get back to doing.
“We’ve been doing that a bit with DVD work, showing him what he was doing when he was playing well and trying to get him back to that.
“He wants to be the best he can and when he came on I thought he looked sharp again.”
