Turtle Hill Golf Club at the Fairmont Southampton and Age Concern Bermuda have joined forces to encourage more residents to have fun in their leisure time. “Golf has so many beneficial attributes for the individual. You don’t really need a partner to play, it is a great way to exercise gently and you get plenty of fresh air. It challenges your mind and soul”, says Anthony Mocklow Director of Golf. “We are delighted to join with the Age Concern LINK programme because we feel that golf is ideal for anyone, especially the over 50”.
For $50.00, which includes the Golf Cart, any current Age Concern Members can play at Turtle Hill, Monday through Friday and once a month a special clinic will be held for $15.00 per person. The course is an Executive Par 3. The avid golfer should not assume that this is a walk in the park either as the difficulty level on some holes will challenge even the pro. Turtle Hill is ideal for Golf after 4pm or early in the morning if your schedule is too busy through the day.
Claudette Fleming, Executive Director of Age Concern, not a golfer in the past has pledged to practice her swing on the course in time to participate in the first Age Concern Golf Tournament slated for the 21st of November. “Our Members are active and productive individuals in the community. No longer should membership in Age Concern be considered something just for the ‘elderly’. There is no limit to what an older person can do. We are very grateful to Turtle Hill for providing this affordable option for our members”.
If you are not a member of Age Concern and you are 50 and over join today; the benefits are tremendous and it is the best $20.00 you will spend on yourself.
