PHC claim Dandy Stars scalp
PHC beat Dandy Stars Gold in the battle of the Women’s Futsal League’s top two teams. The Saturday contest at Dellwood Middle School gym saw PHC win 8 to 5 against its rivals.
PHC outworked Stars in the first half to go up 5 to 1 but Stars came out in the second focused, but could not overcome the deficit. Stars could not concentrate on any way of PHC’s players to shutdown as Aaliyah Nolan, Micah Pond and Taznae Fubler all had two goals. Waynesha Bean and Sideya Dill also slotted home one goal each.
Both Kashintae Fox and K’Sheala Burch had a brace for Stars with Rayni Maybury also scoring.
Somerset Trojans downed Dandy Stars Brown 7 to 4 in the nightcap. Somerset doubled up Brown 4 to 2 at the half. Brown came out firing after the interval and cut the lead to one but Somerset had a renewed sense of purpose to finish strongly.
Dazhja Greaves and Eva Frazzoni both had two goals while Deshae Darrell, Sierra Fisher and Sharri Weldon contributed one each for the Somerset triumph.
Zahara Gibbons and Leah Smith both had two goals for Brown.
The night’s opening contest wasn’t played when Hamilton Parish Hot Peppers defaulted to North Village.
Games start next week Saturday at 5pm at the Dellwood Middle School gym.
