Following the phenomenal success of Warwick Academy’s Lip Dub video last year — the teachers and students are now hoping to create an Internet craze of their own.
Teachers Chris Jones and Richard Cunningham have worked with students at the school to create a film called The Doppelganger
Effect based on the “You Must Be Hank Marvin” Mattessons advertisements currently running in the UK.
It features young Warwick students who mutate into genetic clones of The Blues Brothers following a botched science lab experiment.
Clones
The cloned students are filmed at interesting locations around the island.
Moving out of the school and covering the island, the video is edited to The Peter Gunn theme composed by Henry Mancini and showcases the many diverse talents of the kids involved (ranging from four years of age up to 17).
The film follows in the footsteps of Warwick Academy’s acclaimed LipDub production that is fast approaching 30,000 hits on YouTube.
That film was set to music with the students lip-synching to songs.
The main body of the project was filmed in just one single continuous shot. Meticulous planning and razor-sharp timing were needed to pull it off.
Over 1,000 students and teachers helped to create the film, which included horse riders, gymnasts, dancers, singers, musicians and much more.
At the end of the film all the students run out on to the playing field and run into formation to spell out WA for Warwick
Academy.
